It appears Cantopop star Eason Chan and former TVB actress Hilary Tsui’s only daughter Constance aka Kandy (陳康堤) will be following in her famous dad’s footsteps as a singer after all. Warner Music recently announced signing the 20-year-old as their newest female artist and has asked everyone to stay tuned for the release of her songs.
In the past, Eason has made it no secret that he’s not keen on his daughter going into the entertainment industry. He’s publicly said many times that the entertainment industry is too complicated and he doesn’t want his daughter in any of it. In Kandy’s case however, it seems the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Not only has she inherited her parents’ acting talent, she loves music and has a beautiful voice. Despite their misgivings however, both Eason and Hilary said they won’t stop her from choosing her own path.
Speaking of support, no doubt Kandy will also be getting some help from her famous uncle, the songwriter Wyman Wong. Fun fact: did you know that aside from being her dad’s good friend, Wyman was also instrumental in coming up with the name Constance? As for what her music will sound like and what influences it may have however, that remains to be seen.
