On May 17, Chinese actor Yu Haoming shared photos on social media: his scarred hand, a reminder of the 2010 fire accident that changed his life, gently linking fingers with a woman’s hand and also making a pinky promise. On her ring finger sparkled a diamond ring. The caption read: “Chen, it’s been four months. I really, really want to put this ring on the finger where it truly belongs. I love you forever…” The 37-year-old actor then wrote on social media, “In love, I regret everything in the past. Only now do I realize that I’ve only ever loved one person. Your appearance made all the pain I went through worth it.”
Yu Haoming, born in 1987 in Guangzhou, rose to fame as one of the F4 in Meteor Shower. In 2010, he suffered third-degree burns in a tragic on-set explosion while filming with his then co-star Selina Jen from S.H.E. who was also seriously injured. He underwent multiple surgeries and a long period of rehabilitation, disappearing from the spotlight for years. Eventually, Yu Haoming made a comeback, gaining respect for his resilience and evolving from idol to serious actor.
His recent announcement sent the hashtag “Yu Haoming Wang Xiaochen married” to the top of the hot search. Fans quickly connected the dots—“Chen” likely refers to actress Wang Xiaochen, his co-star in the 2021 web drama Once Upon a Time in Longfan. However, some skeptics questioned whether this was truly a marriage announcement, since Yu Haoming didn’t tag Wang Xiaochen, and she has yet to respond. Others criticized his wording—particularly the line “I’ve only ever loved one person”—as it dismissed a past relationship. Many sent their blessings, glad that he’s weathered the storms to find happiness.
