Brian Wong Chak Fung and his wife Chen Lili are about to become parents once again! The 58-year-old Hong Kong actor announced this week that their little family of three is expecting another addition. With 58-year-old wife Lili already five months pregnant- thanks to a little help from IVF treatments she’d been undergoing, the baby is due to arrive in September. It looks like little “Fei Fei”, their 6-year-old daughter, will soon be promoted to big sis status in no time at all!
“A wish fulfilled. I am going to be a big sis. A different kind of Mother’s Day. The taste of happiness. The happiness of a family of four. Mother’s Day Special. Fei Ma’s successful renewal of love. Fei Fei’s dream of being a big sis finally came true” he excitedly captioned.
An Extraordinary Journey to Parenthood
Indeed 58-year-old Chen Lili’s pregnancy journey has been anything but ordinary. Though the couple married in 2010, it was only during their 9th year of marriage that they had their little daughter. At the time, both Lili and Brian were already 52. Brian previously shared that after their daughter was born in 2019, he and his wife had planned to have a second child immediately, but then Covid happened.
Deciding it was best to push things back until the health situation becomes more stable, they decided to wait. However, Brian said that although they got pregnant again, his wife sadly had a miscarriage. At the doctor’s suggestion, the coupled tried IVF treatments as a last ditch effort… and it worked! Big sis Fei Fei is over the moon about having a younger sibling and even promised to help her mum take care of her little sister and change nappies.
As for all the attention regarding his wife’s pregnancy at such an “advanced age”, the actor said that he has faith in modern medicine and that his wife is in a better physical condition than when she was pregnant 6 years ago. He also public opinion doesn’t really matter to them and that it doesn’t affect their decisions. “I felt very happy when I found out my wife was pregnant again” he said as he vowed to work extra hard to earn money for baby formula.
