JTBC has just dropped a new poster of Park Bo-gum for his upcoming K-drama Good Boy, premiering May 31, 2025, at 10:40 PM (KST). It introduces a new look for the actor as he transforms into ‘Yoon Dong-joo’—bulked up and ready to fight. Reports say he underwent boxing training, so we can definitely expect plenty of action scenes.
I have to say, 2025 is really turning out to be the 31-year-old actor’s year. After a long hiatus from K-drama land—his last drama was Record of Youth in 2020 and completing his two-year military service in between, he returned with When Life Gives You Tangerines. That drama not only drew high viewership but also earned critical acclaim and award nominations. Honestly, there couldn’t be a better time to follow it up with another project. Interestingly, both dramas were actually wrapped in 2024, so it’s taken quite some time for them to finally air.
In Good Boy, Park Bo-gum plays Yoon Dong-joo, a former Olympic medalist who becomes a police officer through a special recruitment program for athletes. The drama follows a group of these medalist-turned-cops who band together, using their unique strengths to uphold justice.
Having seen plenty of cop dramas before, the Olympic angle feels really unique. The cast also includes Kim So-hyun as the female lead, Ji Hanna—a gold medalist shooter with a killer aim. And while we don’t often see Oh Jung-se in lead roles, he’s proven time and again that whether playing a villain or a supporting character, he always delivers.
