Here’s another glimpse at the upcoming urban drama Dear Enemy 亲爱的仇敌 featuring Gao Ye and Michelle Chen as the two former besties who are ‘not-quite friends and more like rivals’ central to the story. The women-centric also features a noteworthy cast, including Yuan Hong and Wang Peng whose characters add further complexity to the women’s relationship as well as Lu Fangsheng and Lu Dongxu whose characters round up the main cast. It seems like this one is gearing up for premiere on Tencent with new promos dropping lately.
Dear Enemy Synopsis
As former besties who’ve drifted apart post graduation, Roman (Gao Ye) becomes a successful screenwriter whilst Chen Kaixi (Michelle Chen) marries up into a wealthy family. Meeting up again years later, the pair form a complex relationship – on the one hand rooting for each other but also treating each other as rivals to beat. It turns out, life isn’t as perfect as the other may think. Roman is not satisfied with her successful career and wants to marry up just like Kaixi. Meanwhile, Kaixi’s marriage isn’t what it seems and is in fact, in trouble.
With the two of them secretly comparing and competing with each other, the young and pretty Zhong Qincheng (Wan Peng) enters their life with her own agenda.
Gao Ye who plays Roman drew a lot of attention when she played Chen Shu Ting in 2023’s crime drama The Knockout. Meanwhile, it’s nice to see 40-year-old Michelle star as one of the main heroines in a drama. Although she’s made the occasional appearance in projects in recent years, it’s been few and far between. Hope we’ll be seeing her in a lot more dramas in the future.
