Chasing Jade (Zhu Yu) Featuring Zhang Linghe and Tian Xiwei: From Sham Marriage to Something More?

Historical romance series Chasing Jade (Zhu Yu) 逐玉 just gave us our first glimpse of the cast as it drops its very first trailer on April 22. Fan wars and objections aside, the new teaser begins interestingly enough with audiences being treated to a scene of Fan Changyu (Tian Xiwei) giving Xie Zheng (Zhang Linghe) a quick little peck on the cheek. We then see how the couple actually met – definitely not a meet cute as Changyu ends up rescuing a wounded Xie Zheng and giving him quite the unconventional proposition. “I, Fan Changyu, the legitimate heir, will kill pigs to raise you.”

Chasing Jade Synopsis

As the trailer goes, “dual sword shadows” and “warrior lovers” seems pretty apt to describe the progression of Fan Changyu and Xie Zheng’s relationship. Whereas the pair first entered into a sham marriage for convenience’s sake – Fan Changyu to protect her younger sister and her own inheritance from the hands of greedy relatives after their parent’s deaths, whilst Xie Zheng the impoverished nobleman out to avenge a blood feud from 17 years ago, their fake marriage unexpectedly turns into true love.

Unfortunately for the couple, war came along. Xie Zheng is forcibly conscripted into the battlefield. Though initially forced to separate, Fan Changyu soon finds herself in the battlefield where the pair join forces to become a formidable team of “warrior lovers”.

The series also features Ren Hao, Snow Kong, Deng Kai, Li Qing, Yu Zhongli, Liu Lin, Yan Yikuan, Ye Yang, Du Chun, Tan Kai, Mao Linlin, Ye Zuxin and Yu Yang just to name a few.
