Li Muchen and Liu Yichang Revealed to be a Couple by Yu Zheng

Chinese actress Wu Jinyan’s husband, Hong Yao, recently became embroiled in rumors after actor Liu Yichang took to his burner account to accuse his fellow actor of inappropriate behavior. Liu Yichang wrote, “Hong, behave, you’re married. Don’t go around inviting people. Going after being invited is also interesting,” sparking a flurry of gossip. Soon after, Yu Zheng clarified the situation.

Yu Zheng explained that the meeting between his artist Hong Yao and actress Daisy Li Muchen was for a birthday party. The two had been rehearsing together, and Li Muchen had simply asked Hong Yao if he was going. After he said he would, she asked him to text the address. Li Muchen went to the party but left soon after.

Following the incident, Liu Yichang apologized to Hong Yao for acting impulsively without fully understanding the situation. Hong Yao responded graciously, urging fans to let rumors die down and avoid harming innocent people. Yu Zheng faced criticism for basically outing Li Muchen, who’s one of the leading actresses in Chinese short dramas, as Liu Yichang’s girlfriend with many questioning if he even had permission to reveal such details.

Meanwhile, Li Muchen also issued her apologies; first, to Yu Zheng for not seeing his messages asking her to clear things as she was busy working and second, to Hong Yao over what happened. She wrote her side of the story saying that Hong Yao had asked if she was going to Teacher Zhang Danfeng’s birthday party, and after learning others would be there, she went. She added that Liu Yichang posted without her knowledge and she had asked him to delete it, but the damage was already done.
