Chinese actress Tao Xinran, 40, best known for her role as An Lingrong in the 2011 palace drama The Legend of Zhen Huan, and her husband, actor He Jianze, 42, have officially announced their divorce. The celebrity couple shared separate statements on social media, revealing that they had already split for some time but chose to keep it private for the sake of their child.
Tao Xinran wrote:
“Yes, we’ve been apart for a while. Out of protection for our child, I didn’t share this with everyone sooner. There’s no dramatic story—just you, me, and the regret of drifting apart.”
Her character An Lingrong was one of the hated figures in the hit drama, a testament to Tao Xinran’s strong acting skills. Fans may have despised Consort Li, but it only proved how talented she was. Meanwhile, He Jianze also addressed their separation:
“Although we decided to part ways, we understand that adult matters are for us to bear. We didn’t want our choice to affect our child, so we chose not to make it public. We hope everyone understands our intentions as parents.”
He also praised Tao Xinran’s dedication to her work, particularly her role in Within (夹缝之间), a film she spent ten years planning. He urged the media to focus on meaningful works rather than personal lives.
Despite their split, Tao Xinran and He Jianze remain committed to their daughter and their careers. She was born in 2016, a year after their marriage in 2015.
