K-drama fans are in for a treat as two former co-stars, Park Hyung-Sik and Seo Kang-Joon, return to the small screen with their respective dramas for the Friday-Saturday time slot this February, Buried Hearts (lit. Treasure Island) and Undercover High School.
On its premiere, SBS’s Buried Hearts recorded a national rating of 6.1%, while MBC’s Undercover High School debuted slightly lower at 5.6%. Meanwhile, online discussions reveal polarizing opinions. Buried Hearts, which opened as a political thriller was criticized for its pacing and excessive intimate scenes between the actor and Hong Hwa-Yeon. Still, it’s likely we just had all the romance there was given the plot twist at the end of the episode, which should eventually start the main protagonist on his road to revenge. Undercover High School, which has a simpler premise that has a government agent on a mission to retrieve missing treasures of gold, delivered just that with humor. Both dramas premiered on the same night, fueling inevitable comparisons though their styles couldn’t be more different.
Buried Hearts stars Park Hyung-Sik alongside veteran actor Heo Jun-Ho, while Undercover High School features Seo Kang-Joon opposite Jin Ki Joo and a young cast of rising talents. The two leads certainly returned to the screen in tip top shape. And for those of us who love both Park Hyung-Sik and Seo Kang-Joon? It’s a win-win situation!

I’m actually watching Seo Kang Joon’s drama. It’s been a long time since I’ve checked out his drama since Cheese in the Trap days. Although, Undercover High School is nothing like a WOW factor at the moment, I still enjoyed and like it. He’s super handsome so that’s a plus LOL.
I’m not sure if I will check out Park Hyung Sik’s drama. That plot twist was pretty mind blowing, but it sets up for so much angst and Idk If I want to go through all that. I feel like it might be better to watch this drama all in one go, but of course that depends on the ending too.
