This Legend of Zhen Huan Detained After Outing Herself in a Drunk Driving Story That Turned Out to be Fake
Legend of Zhen Huan actress Cui Manli

A Legend of Zhen Huan actress learned the hard way that telling tall tales for attention has its consequences. Cui Manli who played Yu Ying’er in the palace drama aka Empresses in the Palace recently revealed on livestream that she had driven without a license whilst drunk and fled the scene during a hit-and-run accident in Hengdian. “I was glad, I thought the camera was broken so I had nothing to worry about”.

Well everything she said has now come back to bite her in the back as Dongyang City police (where Hengdan is located), recently issued a public announcement stating a 36-year-old female with the surname Cui has been detained. The statement said the female Cui was held for fabricating stories during a live broadcast, claiming that she’d driven sans license and fleeing the scene whilst filming in Hengdian in order to attract public attention and fans, and disturbing public order.

Why she would admit to committing these things on a live broadcast is anyone’s guess. The most likely being that it was all a publicity stunt to gain her some traffic and attention. However, I’m really scratching my head over how anyone could think that “admitting” to a hit and run would end up well for anyone.  If attention is what she wanted to get, you can bet she got it alright … just not the right kind. Apparently, her scenes in the currently airing rerun of Zhen Huan Zhuan in China has swiftly been removed.

Cui Manli later released another video saying she was in the wrong and asked for everyone’s forgiveness.
