Former TVB actress turned wine-maker Bernice Liu was recently recognised by the French government for her continued efforts to promote French wine and gastronomy. The 46-year-old winemaker was awarded the rank of Chevalier of the Ordre du Merite Agricole by the French minister of agriculture Annie Genevard in a ceremony in Paris.
Bernice started off the year of the snake pretty auspiciously, accepting her medal in a black dress with white embroidery motif. Later, she took to social media to express her gratitude to every one who supported her. The Consulate General of France in Hong Kong also posted a congratulatory note on social media.

Prior to making a career pivot and going into wine making, Bernice who was crowned Miss Chinese International 2001 moved to Hong Kong from Canada in pursuit of an acting career. She appeared in TVB dramas such as Virtues of Harmony and Into Thin Air and left the network in 2011. Though she continued to have acting projects, the actress who also has an EMBA degree from INSEAD eventually faded out of showbiz to focus on her business ventures. Nowadays, she has certainly made a name for herself as a wine maker with her award-winning Bellavizio wines, and as a wine critic.
