With photos going viral of what looks to be Taecyeon proposing to his longtime girlfriend in front of the iconic Eiffel Tower, many assumed that the 2PM star and actor is officially off the dating market. However, it looks like this isn’t the case at all. His agency 51K just clarified that the photos “were not taken as part of a marriage proposal” so no, guess they’re not engaged after all.
To be very honest though, it’s easy to see why everyone assumed he’d popped the question. In the photos unknowingly released and now deleted by a French photography studio, Taecyeon can be seen kneeling in front of his non-showbiz girlfriend holding up what looks to be a Tiffany blue box. There’s also photos of them looking overjoyed and ecstatic as they held each other. According to his agency, the snaps weren’t taken to document a marriage proposal and that the pics taken last year were actually in celebration of his girlfriend’s birthday.
Looking at screenshots taken by nimble fingered Netizens before the post was taken down, it appears the photos have actually been online for a long time before anyone really took notice. Time stamps indicate it was posted as early as April 7 2024.
Taecyeon and his non-celebrity girlfriend first went public with their relationship back in 2020. However this is actually the first time in the years they’ve been dating that we’re seeing what she looks like.
