Huang Zitao Has No Regrets Depsite Losing Followers After His Epic Car Giveaway

Whoa. Huang Zitao just hosted the most epic off all giveaways, promising to give away 10 cars if his account hits 15 million. It was just a matter of time really and sure enough, when his follower count hit the magic number, Tao hosted a live broadcast to raffle off the promised prize. What started out as 10 cars originally soon exploded to a whopping 30 cars to show his appreciation for fan’s support. However, as soon as the first wave of lotteries was over, Tao soon found himself losing over 3 million fans! Anyone in his shoes will no doubt feel cheated but the idol said even if they unfollowed him, he is still grateful. “I haven’t let anyone down. I have a clear conscience”.

“Thank you to all who supported, and thank you to everyone who joined the live broadcast that day. Even if they unfollowed me, I am grateful because after all, everyone helped to bring in some interest, and it is normal to disperse after it ends. It is because of everyone (and their support) that we hit a record number that day. It was just a small token of thanks from me. Those who understand will naturally understand, and those who don’t understand will have a lot of things to say. I live an upright life, and I have not let anyone down. I have a clear conscience.”

Logistical and Regulatory Considerations

He also shared that when doing the giveaway, himself and his team also had to consider many logistical factors which isn’t as simple as just determining the price of each car as some may have thought. They had to consider it was legally compliant when gifting it to everyone in the live broadcast. There is also an important detail about the giveaway: the winners can use the car for five years. After this period, the cars must be returned. This is said to help the winners in managing financial constraints of owning the car. As for those who didn’t win, Tao promised fans who always supported his broadcast that no matter what he will find a way to give back to everyone.

To date, the first wave of lotteries saw 10 fans winning car valued at roughly US$ 14.9k each. Out of the 30, 10 were earmarked to be donated to the Women’s and Children’s foundation.
