K-Drama Love Scout Starring Han Ji-Min and Lee Joon-Hyuk Sees Ratings Rise to Double Digits

We may have just found the perfect K-drama rom-com to start the year. Love Scout, literally titled My Perfect Secretary in Korean, stars Han Ji-min and Lee Joon-hyuk as the fierce, workaholic boss who doesn’t know how to do anything else and her personal secretary, a single dad who does everything for her. Viewership ratings on SBS started modestly at 5.2% for its premiere episode and inched up to 6.5%, but this week the show jumped to double digits, reaching 10.5% and peaking at 11.3% by the latest episode.

I have to say, these two are visuals, and the drama is shot beautifully. It may be a bit “childish,” but it’s giving rom-com vibes all right. Han Ji-min, who is in her forties now, can always pull off these roles effortlessly. But Lee Joon-hyuk surprised me. The 40-year-old actor, known for supporting roles and even villains, shines here as the romantic lead. He’s so good, and it’s refreshing to see him in an interesting role. The main and side characters are all engaging so far and judging from the ratings, Love Scout might just be your pick.
