Luhan Social Media Accounts Restricted: Apologizes for Misconduct During Live Stream

On January 6, Chinese celebrity Luhan faced restrictions on several of his social media accounts, Douyin, Weibo, and Xiaohongshu. Users attempting to follow his accounts encountered messages stating that the user had been blocked from being followed due to violations of community guidelines.

In response to the situation, Luhan’s studio issued a public apology on the singer-actor’s behalf. The statement acknowledged inappropriate behavior during a live broadcast, which led to these restrictions.

The 34-year-old star expressed deep regret, stating: “I sincerely apologize for setting a poor example during the live broadcast. I am committed to actively mitigating the negative social impact caused by my actions and will take full responsibility as a public figure. Moving forward, I will hold myself to higher standards and demonstrate my remorse through concrete actions.”

It can be remembered that back in November 2024, Luhan faced backlash after a livestream where he appeared intoxicated, with some viewers criticizing his erratic behavior and calling him unprofessional. However, some were simply amused and even said he’s becoming more like his former fellow EXO member Huang Zitao. At one point, Luhan flipped the middle finger. Nonetheless, some can’t help ask why the restrictions have come now when the livestream happened a while ago.
