Earlier in the week, a clip of former Bonbon Girls 303 member Curley Gao dragging a puppy went viral and sparked a ton of concerned comments from Netizens and animal lovers alike. Responding to this, the Chinese singer explained that her pup was unused to crowds hence the reason why it completely froze up and stopped walking. “It has the same social phobia like me, it’s afraid of crowds. It usually runs fast. Don’t be fooled by its seemingly innocent appearance” she said.
What Happened

In the clip that was circulating online, Curley was holding on to a lead that attaches to the puppy’s harness. Initially, the little doggo was still walking along pretty quickly but then seemed to stop because the floor was a bit slippery. Curley didn’t pick up the puppy at the time and continued to pull it along instead. However, just as she passed the white barrier, she did immediately scoop the pup up into her arms.
Many who saw the pup being dragged were concerned it would be hurt especially since it was a teeny puppy. And regardless of the way the dog’s harness was designed and despite her explanation, Netizens believe that dragging the tiny pup will do more harm. Nonetheless, other Netizens chimed in to defend her saying it’s pretty normal to see puppies not wanting to walk that that this was a common way to “walk” them. Besides, they said the harness design ensured the pup won’t be strangled.
More than that, the issue also drove home the importance of treating animals more kindly and respectfully. With so many eyes on her, Netizens believe Curley should have paid more attention to her actions and set a better example for the public.

What a bullshit! If she really cares her dog, she would carry it on her arm not to [walk] which actually dragging! As pet parent, I know sometime my baby lazy to walk, but I won’t drag it. If she doesn’t want to carry, buy stroller!
