Having the right mix of personalities plays a crucial role in any team’s dynamics. Season 6 of Divas Hit the Road 花儿与少年6 brings together a group of stars that include Chen Hao, Victoria Song, Liu Ye, Gina Jin Chen, Zhou Yutong , Deng Enxi, Neo Hou Minghao, Tian Jiarui and Rong Zishan. However, it seems audiences weren’t quite keen on this season’s set, seeing how it hit an all time low of 3.9 on Douban.
They’re Getting a Bad Rep
Amongst the criticism, Zhou Yutong and Neo Hou were accused of being showbiz “royalty” and getting special treatment. When the production announced Zhou Yutong would be leading the trip to Tanzania, Netizens speculated that the move seems to have already been pre-determined when supposedly, it wasn’t decided yet. Then she even mentioned how Hou Minghao helped her prepare content about their destination.
That doesn’t even cover how some cast members have earned a bad rep. Zhou Yutong was described as inconsiderate to guests and industry seniors on the show. She also drew flak for deliberately opening the bathroom door whilst Jin Chen was taking a shower knowing the cameras were still rolling. Likewise, Hou Minghao was also blasted for using group’s travel funds as he wanted to go paragliding though his own money wasn’t sufficient. Even teen actor Rong Zishan from The Bad Kids fame didn’t escape from getting complaints for his personality. While it may be negative, the show’s certainly drawn some attention as people are talking about it.
“Seven Stars of the Big Dipper”
In sharp contrast, Divas Hit the Road Season 5 which featured Dilraba Dilmurat, Qin Lan, Wang Anyu, Qin Hailu, Hu Xianxu, Xin Zhilei and Zhao Zhaoyi turned out to be big hit amongst viewers. People noted how the camaraderie and warmth was very much evident amongst the seven cast mates. So much so that Netizens even dubbed their little group the “seven stars of the big dipper (北斗七行). Whereas many might have initially tuned in because of Reba, its likely viewers continued to tune in because of the genuine camaraderie between all the members.
Ever since S6 started airing, Netizens continued to compare the current one with the last, saying how it’s obvious that the friendship was really there among the Divas Hit the Road S5 cast versus the season 6 members who didn’t appear close with each other. Then again, it could all just be Netizens reading into things too much.

I really enjoyed Season 5…that was a great group. I am not keen on Season 6 after eps 1..

They either grow on you or they don’t. I did warm up to S6 ppl as they became more talkative and close. Unlike S5 though, the S6 personalities are less defined with the exception of one or two ppl. This isn’t great since S6 has more ppl than S5. The S5 ppl just seemed authentic, distinct, and chill from the get go.

Wow calling out Hou for paragliding is so mean. It wasn’t his idea to include one more person in paragliding. He chose to back off at first because he’s a tour guide. Then this host sister volunteered to add one more for him because she knows he loves adventures but he still insisted it’s ok not to go because he didn’t want to use public fund. It was the whole group that insisted him to go have fun for some time. They were convincing so much that he finally gave in.
