Hong Kong actress Elaine Yiu is known for her sisterly bond with fellow celebrities who started out at TVB, such as Myolie Wu, Nancy Wu, Pace Wu, Mandy Wong, and Selena Lee. The six friends even call themselves “Wu Suet Pat Dou Wui” (The Nonsense Club 胡說八道會). However, the 43-year-old Elaine has an actual younger sibling, news anchor Sandy Yiu.
The 34-year-old news anchor for Now TV graduated with a degree in journalism. While Elaine primarily focuses on acting and hosting at TVB, Sandy has established herself as a news anchor over the past decade despite some hiatuses. Sandy got married in 2021 but had to postpone her wedding celebration in Okinawa, Japan, until 2024 due to the pandemic.

Although the two sisters work in different fields, they are quite supportive of each other. Elaine Yiu shared a cute pictorial she took with her sister bride by the beach, writing: “Last time I said that my special mission in Okinawa was to attend the wedding of my sister and brother-in-law 💍❤️. Previously, due to the epidemic, I was unable to fulfill my sister’s dream wedding 👰♀️🤵♂️💒💕. I know you put a lot of thought into preparing for this wedding, and being able to witness my beautiful sister in this glass church, wearing a long trailing wedding dress, is really touching 🥹. Sister wishes you a happy life! 🥰🥰🥰.”
It’s not immediately obvious that Elaine and Sandy are siblings since their last names are different. Elaine’s stage name is Yiu Wai-ling (姚子羚), while her real name is Yiu Wai-ling (饒慧玲). Although the names sound similar, the characters are different.
