Recently, Taiwanese actress Shu Qi, whose real name is Lin Li-hui but is better known by her stage name, took to social media to address her real age. The internet has widely listed her birth year as 1974, making her 50 years old. However, Shu Qi clarified that she is, in fact, 48 years old, which would mean her real birth date is April 16, 1976. In her own words: “48 or 50 doesn’t make much difference to me, but for the sake of my team, I wanted to clarify.”
She humorously shared screenshots from online sources displaying her incorrect birthdate, stating that her team has already attempted to correct the information multiple times, only for it to revert back. “It was changed once before, but somehow it got changed back,” she explained, calling on media outlets not to propagate this mistake.
Shu Qi, known for embracing ageing with confidence, surprised some fans with her recent reveal though the actress even joked that she wouldn’t mind if they reported her as 20 years younger instead.
