K-drama Good Partner is performing well due to its compelling mix of legal drama and personal conflict, with strong performances by dual female leads Jang Na-Ra and her younger co-star Nam Ji-Hyun as the seasoned lawyer and the idealistic rookie. The SBS series has been performing well in terms of ratings, but there’s been a noticeable plateau around 15%.
Good Partner started with solid numbers, kicking off with a 7.8% rating for the first episode. As the drama progressed, the ratings steadily increased, peaking at an impressive 17.7% in episode 7. However, from episode 8 onwards, the ratings seem to have leveled off, hovering around the 15% mark.

The story’s exploration of divorce, both in and out of the courtroom, resonates with many. However, some viewers feel that the narrative has become somewhat stagnant. Additionally, the drama’s portrayal of familial relationships, particularly the impact of a father’s absence due to divorce on a child, has sparked discussions. The frequent emphasis on scenes between the mother and child suggests that a “complete” family requires both parents, even if the father has been unfaithful, has been off-putting to some viewers. Nonetheless, with several episodes still to air, there’s potential for the story to regain momentum.
