It looks like we’re in for a battle of wills and wits in Liu Xueyi and Meng Ziyi’s newest costume historical titled Tao Hua Ying Jiang Shan 桃花映江山. Clearly, when up against the machinations of diabolical minds, one must always be ten steps ahead of the game. Otherwise you’ll find yourself forced into a political marriage of convenience after being framed by a political enemy. Even then, it seems both husband and wife are in a constant battle of wits against each other as they scheme for power and intrigue. Heck, even I lost count of the number of times they tried to off each other in the trailer!
Liu Xueyi and Meng Ziyi star as Shen Zaiye and Jiang Taohua in this enemies to lovers story between a corrupt minister and a princess from a fallen kingdom. One is ruthless whilst the other is cunning and clever. Who do you think will win in this battle of wits and courage? Strategy is definitely the name of the game especially when they soon face off against a powerful common enemy. Imagine the sparks that will fly as husband and wife team up and battle for survival.
Aside from the short teaser, check out as well the show’s freshly released new posters. From the staid browns and earthy tones, could it be hinting at a heavy plotline? Guess we’ll have to wait for further deets before we make any assumptions.
The drama adaptation of Bai Lu Chengshuang’s novel of the same name also stars Gao Han, Liu Lingzi, Bian Cheng, Fan Jingwen, Zhao Shunran , Yang Wanqing and Wang Yijin.
