Huang Zitao and Xu Yiyang Confirm Relationship After Four Years of Speculation

On July 14, 2024, Huang Zitao and Xu Yiyang tagged each other on social media to finally announce their relationship. Tao shared photos of them at the beach, pulling each other into a hug, one leaning in for a kiss, and another photo of them kissing, captioned, “Wish we’ll forever be us.” Xu Yiyang also shared two couple photos of them holding hands with the caption, “Sunset by the sea, make a wish.” Their announcement quickly trended number one on the Weibo hot search, as the news has literally been four years in the making.

Tao’s Dating Timeline with Yiyang

Huang Zitao and Xu Yiyang were rumored to be dating since June 2020. This came after Tao was the host of “Chuang 2020,” where Xu Yiyang, an artist under his agency, participated as a contestant. Back then, Huang Zitao said things like, “(you) think too much,” seemingly shutting it down. However, in 2022, Huang Zitao and Xu Yiyang reportedly went to Sanya together for a vacation, and some even speculated that they game together as a couple, but Tao’s response seemed to shut it down again. In November 2022, there were even reports that Tao and Xu Yiyang had already met for dinner with family. The two stars also did not shy away from greeting each other on their birthdays. On October 11, 2023, Tao reportedly confessed his love for Xu Yiyang at a nightclub in Korea. By July 1, 2024, there were engagement rumors that Tao’s staff denied. Recently, during a livestream, Tao basically said he doesn’t think it’s necessary for celebrities to reveal their dating status but looks like they decided to do so after all.
