Hong Kong actor Nicholas Tse and Chinese singer Faye Wong, who have an 11-year age gap, were a power couple in the 90s but broke up in 2002. Years later, after their respective marriages ended in divorce, they rekindled their relationship in 2014. Since then, despite occasional rumors of breakups, they’ve been going strong as a couple and are spotted together every so often.
According to HK01, it’s been circulating on Chinese social media that 43-year-old Nicholas Tse became upset with his fans for criticizing his 54-year-old girlfriend, Faye Wong. He reportedly called the fan club leader personally to tell his fans not to speak badly about his girlfriend, warning that he would even cut ties with the fan club. The incident is said to involve younger fans who became his supporters following the 2021 film “Raging Fire.”
While some feel that his response was too harsh, given that his fans have supported him for decades, many also praise him for his actions to protect his partner. Others joke that he can do without “harsh” fans but can never do without Faye Wong.
