Nicholas Tse’s agency EEG (Emperor Entertainment Group) recently issued a statement to shut down the rumors surrounding his family. Since the death of the actor’s father, Hong Kong actor Patrick Tse, it was widely circulated that 90% of the estate was left to the two grandsons (Nicholas’s sons with ex-wife Cecilia Cheung) while the remaining 10% is split between Nicholas Tse and his sister Jennifer Tse. However, the recent statement exposed the reports online as fabricated stories.
The statement shared by Hong Kong entertainment executive Mani Fok wrote, “Some individuals on the internet, claiming to have insider knowledge, have fabricated stories regarding Mr. Tse’s “cause of death” and “inheritance distribution. These people have publicly spread false and malicious information, creating rumors that have misled a large number of internet users and resulted in untrue and defamatory comments about Mr. Tse. The deceased deserves peace and respect.” They say that people who continue to spread false information will face legal action by EEG and Mr. Nicholas Tse to protect their lawful rights and interests.
Despite the grief of recently losing his father, Nicholas Tse honored his father’s final wish that “the show must go on”, recently appearing in concert as planned.
