On July 4, Wang Leehom was injured after falling off the stage during the Chengdu stop of his “The Best Place 2.0” concert tour, but continued performing and completed the entire show.
The accident occurred not long after the concert started. When walking back from the extended stage, he tripped over a safety harness that crew had removed from his waist and left on the floor, causing him to fall forward heavily. The left side of his head slammed into the metal steps before him. Crew members immediately rushed to his side before the singer got back up on his feet to continue singing. However, closeup shots reveal he was visibly bleeding, with cuts on the left side of his face and a bloody ear.
During a brief break, Wang Leehom received first aid and had his left ear bandaged before returning to the stage. He reassured the audience, “I look a bit like the artist Van Gogh. But don’t worry. I just took a fall. We wear hard in-ear monitors, and mine hit my ear during the fall. The earpiece broke, so my ear started bleeding. They’re all just external injuries, don’t worry everyone.”
He later quipped that he also looked like an MMA fighter, adding, “That’s the attitude, right? When you fall, you get back up by yourself, and you get up immediately!” Wang Leehom went on to complete the full three-hour concert, winning praise for his professionalism and dedication to put on a good show for concertgoers.

I hope the damage to his ear is just on the outside; in ear monitors could cause permanent hearing loss if it damaged his eardrum. Good that there was a first aid treatment done at the stage; I hate it when people are expected to perform when injured no matter what the profession is. That’s why I don’t watch animal movies in America; all the horse racing movies love to show the horse injured but still forced to race anyway by their owners. The Black Stallion and Hedalgo were both like that and it makes me sick that glorification of performing while injured! In real life, people and animals get permanently harmed by this attitude! While I’m a fan, I want the one I’m supporting and loving to be healthy and well, not in pain and suffering! I can always wait for the better/best condition!
