NBA star Michael Porter Jr. recently addressed a viral photo taken during his visit to Taiwan in 2023, linking him to influencer Xiao A La, who’s been public about becoming a transgender woman since undergoing surgery in 2020. Speaking on the Curious Mike podcast, the 28-year-old star said he had never publicly acknowledged the incident before, adding, “I feel like this might be the episode to acknowledge it.” Porter Jr. said he did not know Xiao A La’s identity and claimed he was unaware that she was transgender even until today. He said that she reached out first and he was physically attracted to her so he responded. He said they had to talk through Google Translate and that they never got that far into speaking. However, she has now challenged his account of their meeting.
Xiao A La uploaded a short clip on social media, giving him the middle finger and calling him out, “Michael Porter Jr. You’re such a liar, I didn’t even mention you, and you brought me up first. It really sucks.” She teased, “The truth about the hookup incident is about to be revealed.” Xiao A La then gave an interview to Mirror Media and disclosed an alleged chat conversation between them. According to the screenshots, Porter Jr. first messaged her with “Hi” and told her he was in Taipei, saying he wanted a massage from her. Recalling the night at his hotel, Xiao A La admits they indeed had difficulty communicating and claims she began massaging his shoulders before he later invited her into the bedroom. She subsequently detailed her account of how she claims the intimate encounter unfolded.
