Margaret Chung, a former Hong Kong actress who left TVB in 2006, is now known as a yoga instructor, a dedicated mom and an advocate for children with special needs. On September 11, she was suddenly in the news after reports that she was rushed to the intensive care unit of the Chinese University Hospital in Hong Kong. Her recent slimmer appearance at actress Janet Chow’s birthday party also fueled speculation about her health. In response, Margaret Chung posted a message on social media, thanking everyone and also asking for privacy.
She wrote, “First and foremost, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for the tremendous concern, kindness and well wishes I have received during this arduous period of my life. The compassion shown to me, and my family has meant more than I can adequately express. At this time, my focus is on my health, being with the people I love and spending meaningful time with my family as we navigate this together.”
She said that she understands and is grateful for the concern and interest towards her as a public figure, but asks for privacy especially for her family. She concluded, “For now, my priority is my health and my family. I hope everyone will understand our wish for privacy while allowing us the time and space to focus on one another. Thank you for your understanding, compassion and respect.”
