Liu Yifei is caught in a controversy over a photo she posted from a recent Bulgari event in Shanghai, where a photo of three became two after Vietnamese singer Ho Ngoc Ha was cropped out.
The 39-year-old actress who’s a global brand ambassador for the luxury brand shared several photos, but what drew attention was the photo that left only herself with the Bulgari CEO in the frame. On the other hand, Ho Ngoc Ha who attended the event with her actor husband Kim Ly posted the original photo on her social media, showing that it was a group picture of the three ladies together. The Vietnamese star has also spoken publicly about her love for Liu Yifei, saying that she’s “very beautiful.”
The incident has prompted a number of Vietnamese netizens to leave comments on Liu Yifei’s Instagram questioning her actions and finding it offensive. Liu Yifei has already deleted the particular post. Meanwhile, Ho Ngoc Ha reportedly addressed the issue by saying she did not mind as the two were not close, so it’s understandable for Liu Yifei not to post their photo.
It’s drawn mixed reactions from those who find it disrespectful and others who feel it’s simply a matter of personal choice. Some defended that Liu Yifei as a brand ambassador may have been required to post a photo with the CEO or that her social media could have been managed by her assistant.
