Lay Zhang Yixing’s studio has issued a statement denying rumors that he is a “disgraced artist” or that he has been “blacklisted.” The statement comes in response to recent negative rumors about the 34-year-old Chinese singer-actor that has been trending online.
Studio Warns of Legal Action
The studio stated that “since the beginning, Mr. Zhang Yixing has always treated his career and identity as a public figure with respect and sincerity, adhering to professional ethics and never engaging in any illegal activities.” It added that the rumors circulating online are completely fabricated.
They demanded that any related defamatory content be deleted immediately, warning that those responsible could face legal liability for their actions. The studio also revealed that it has entrusted a law firm to collect evidence and will pursue legal action against severely infringing content, depending on the severity of the violations, including filing lawsuits or reporting the matter to the police.
Health Update After Surgery
The statement also addressed Zhang Yixing’s health. According to the studio, he recently underwent surgery and is in the recovery stage, requiring a period of rest. His work plans for April and May have already been scheduled and are progressing steadily. Reports indicate that Zhang Yixing underwent rhinitis surgery in early January 2026 and is currently recovering in accordance with medical advice.
Speculation About a Top-Tier Artist
However, the topic that “multiple events of a top-tier artist are cancelled” began trending online today. Blogger Li Ji (理记) claimed that Zhang Yixing has been “suspended from offline performances for one year,” alleging it’s related to a punishment from the National Theatre of China over an incident involving his trip to South Korea where he was called back. Despite the response from the artist’s studio, Li Ji continued to insist that the claims were true, arguing that the issue involving the National Theatre was not directly addressed in the statement.
Others have defended Zhang Yixing, pointing out that a quick check of the official website of the National Theatre of China still lists projects involving him, suggesting that there is no issue.
