Yue Yuting Shows Off Invitation After Paris Fashion Week Appearance Sparks Debate

Chinese actress Yue Yuting, best known for starring in several popular micro-dramas, recently appeared at Paris Fashion Week, raising questions about how she was invited. The 24-year-old actress was promoted as the “first micro-drama actress invited to Paris Fashion Week.” She was expected to attend the Balmain show, but did not make it due to unforeseen circumstances. Her absence led to speculation that she didn’t have an official invitation. The lack of confirmation from the brand fueled the debate across Chinese social media.

Just days later, Yue Yuting attended the Givenchy Fall/Winter 2026 runway show. Wearing a black mini dress, she was seen interacting with fans who recognized her at the venue. This time, seemingly to calm the controversy, Yue Yuting shared a social media post showing herself holding a Givenchy invitation card with her name printed on it. She also appeared in a photo with fashion editor Anna Wintour whom she says she was excited to have met in person after seeing on television.

Despite the criticism, Yue Yuting continued to attend shows and share photos from Paris. She also spoke candidly during her livestream, “If I didn’t do anything wrong, why should I be afraid? If I had done something wrong, I’d be trembling at home. But I didn’t.” As some accused her of “buying” an invitation, she said that she is not wealthy and she would not have had to work her way up in short dramas if she were. She’s an actress who’s not part of an agency.

Yue Yuting rose to fame through China’s rapidly growing micro-drama industry, earning the nickname “short-drama goddess” after starring in multiple viral productions.
