Immortalis Wuxia Drama Announces Cast Led by Hou Minghao

Wuxia drama Immortalis (碧血蝉) has announced its full cast and confirmed that filming has wrapped, with Neo Hou Minghao, Zhang Wenxin, and Xu Zhenxuan in leading roles.

Hou Minghao plays Yang Wujian, an elder of the Changsheng Sect who is afflicted with illness. He is a master of disguise with a morally ambiguous nature. Zhang Wenxin portrays Shen Qingshi, an imperial shadow guard disguised as a man. Xu Zhenxuan takes on the role of Zhou Huai, the young master of a prominent family and the comic relief of the trio.

Filming began on November 27, 2025, and lasted 114 days across locations including Hengdian and Yunnan, wrapping on March 22, 2026. However, some of Hou Minghao’s fans have expressed concerns about his screen time, urging the production team to respect both the actor and his character Yang Wujian’s central role in the story, and not to give his key moments to supporting characters. Meanwhile, others are simply excited about the reunion of Hou Minghao and Xu Zhenxuan following their previous collaboration in Fangs of Fortune.

Adapted from a novel by Bumingyan, Immortalis follows three unconventional heroes – Yang Wujian, Shen Qingshi, and Zhou Huai, who come from different backgrounds and harbor hidden identities. They join forces to investigate the secrets of immortality, uncovering a series of strange events that point to a deeper conspiracy.

It also stars Lu Fangsheng, Zhang Duo, Yang Yiwei, and others, with guest appearances by Xuan Lu, Wang Maolei, Wang Zuyi, and You Jingru in their respective episodes.
