Wang Yuwen Halts Promotions for My Page in the 90s Amid Behind-the-Scenes Drama

Wang Yuwen Halts Promotions for My Page in the 90s After Behind-the-Scenes Drama

On January 25, Uvin Wang Yuwen’s studio issued a sudden statement announcing that they have suspended all promotional activities for the actress’ currently-airing drama My Page in the 90s. According to her team, the incident stemmed from the actions of the drama’s outsourced publicity and marketing team.

What Happened?

Wang Yuwen’s studio stated that the publicity team ignored her team’s extensive promotional efforts for the drama and was unprofessional in their actions, such as smearing the artist with baseless rumors and sowing discord between their side and the streaming platforms.

Although it wasn’t mentioned in the statement, the issue allegedly stemmed from a rule that limits the number of promotional posts a day. Wang Yuwen was said to have posted two clips on Douyin in a single day upon production’s request, but to avoid triggering the rule, the publicity team claimed it was the artists own actions, leading her team to be held accountable by the platform. The situation worsened when the publicity team allegedly began spreading unfounded claims that Wang Yuwen had “violated cooperation rules” and that her “professional character was questionable.”

Less than three hours after Wang Yuwen’s studio statement went public, the drama’s official Weibo account issued a response at 2:46 a.m. The production team acknowledged that members of the publicity team had engaged in “groundless rumor-mongering” and had “smeared the artist’s character.” They announced the immediate dismissal of the individuals involved and the termination of cooperation with the publicity team.

It Won’t Diminish Her Love for the Drama

Wang Yuwen addressed the incident directly, thanking fans for their support and expressing gratitude to her studio for protecting her reputation. She said she had received and accepted the production team’s apology and trusts them to handle the situation appropriately. While acknowledging the suddenness of the events that transpired during the drama’s airing, she emphasized that it would not diminish her love for the project or the effort of everyone involved. The actress apologized for any impact on viewers and stressed that the situation was not a publicity stunt. She reassured fans that she would continue her work and encouraged everyone to enjoy the upcoming episodes of My Page in the 90s.
