After the two sang a duet, Li Chuan stopped stopped his girlfriend, Chui Na Li Sha, as she was about to leave the stage, picked up a guitar, and sang her favorite song. The singer-actress teased him, saying it sounded “really bad,” to which the 35-year-old actor replied, “Even if it’s bad, you’ll have to listen to it for a lifetime.” He then dropped to one knee and pulled out a ring to propose. The 29-year-old singer burst into tears, choking back sobs as she accepted.

When she put on the ring, she was so nervous that she “didn’t know where to put her hands,” while Li Chuan’s voice trembled as he asked, “Does it fit? I was afraid I bought the wrong size.”
Many viewers initially thought it was just part of the show. In a subsequent interview, Li Chuan explained he meant what he said and the proposal was genuine. He then posted on Weibo, “Joy shared, joy doubled” as he tagged Chui Na Li Sha who responded, “Congratulations to you @LiChuan.” Chui Na Li Sha said she had always imagined being proposed to by Li Chuan, but never expected it to happen on New Year’s Eve.
