After Chinese actress Rosy Zhao Lusi announced that her studio is back in business, her former agency Tianjin Galaxy Cool Entertainment (KU) found itself at the center of another storm over online claims it was on the brink of closing down after losing its top artist.
Several Chinese media outlets reported that five companies previously listed as major shareholders have recently withdrawn their stakes. Board members were also alleged to have stepped down. As speculation surged, Galaxy Cool Entertainment released an urgent statement denying the claims. The company stressed that its operations remain normal and described the equity changes as standard business adjustments. It also issued a warning that it would pursue legal action against anyone spreading false or malicious statements about the company.
Meanwhile, Zhao Lusi has embarked on a new chapter in her career. Her new agency is reportedly Hujing Digital Media and Entertainment Group, a subsidiary of Alibaba, which reunites her with Li Wei, the former CEO of Galaxy Cool Entertainment and the person credited with discovering her years ago. Li Wei, who left Galaxy Cool in 2023, is now working with Zhao Lusi once again. He even organized her recent birthday event, during which the actess grew emotional as she thanked him for his continued support as she regained her footing in the industry.
