It’s been days since Taiwanese actress Chiang Tsu-ping first came forward with serious allegations against Kung Yi-ting, the son of Kung Mei-fu, a senior executive of a major broadcast network. The 47-year-old actress accused Kung Yi-ting of drugging, sexually assaulting, and secretly filming women and that she was a victim too. Her revelation has sparked widespread concern in Taiwan.
TV Network Executive Resigns
In the days following her statement, the case has evolved rapidly, with the accused’s father taking significant action in response to the public outcry. SET TV confirmed that Kung Mei-fu, a long-time senior vice president at the station, had formally resigned from his position.
In a written statement, Kung acknowledged the gravity of the situation. “I am Kung Mei-fu. The recent controversy involving my son has caused significant public concern and discussion, wasting public resources and stirring public sentiment. I am deeply sorry,” Kung stated. “As a senior employee of SET TV, I fully understand the value of the trust and support I’ve received over the years. I’m ashamed that this incident has now impacted the company. To take responsibility, I have voluntarily resigned from my position.” “As a father, I cannot shirk responsibility. I must bravely face everything my son has caused. We have entrusted lawyers to fully handle the case, and we will let the judicial system clarify the facts and restore the truth,” he added.
Chiang Tsu-ping Places Trust in the Judicial Process
In her personal statement posted to Instagram, Chiang Tsu-ping thanked those who had reached out to her and explained her current state of mind. “Thank you all for your concern and support… it has truly given me great strength,” she wrote. “After a few days of reflection, although I’m still very emotional, I don’t want this incident to spiral further and lose focus. I am mentally and physically exhausted. Seeing my mother so worried and heartbroken was never my intention.” “Therefore, I’ve decided to calm down and follow my family’s advice, handing over the case to my lawyer. I trust the judicial process.” “I sincerely hope this incident can help prevent other women from being treated this way. Your encouragement and support have been my biggest source of strength. Going forward, I will let my lawyer handle everything and will wait for further legal advice before making more statements.”
As the case now enters the legal process, both parties have chosen to hand over responsibilities to their respective legal teams. Media attention remains high, as the allegations involve Taiwan’s entertainment industry.
