Chinese actress Zhao Lusi continues to trend in the headlines for a number of things and today’s latest development has the actress announcing her plans of shutting down her social media account. Her fan club meanwhile, responded with a farewell message expressing their support. They said that over the past decade, Lusi’s talent, dedication, and authenticity have deeply moved and inspired many of them. In the absence of acting gigs, Zhao Lusi has taken to hosting live streams at home where she spills the tea about the darker side of the industry. One of the topics that recently caught a lot of attention was a blind item about an unnamed artist whose fans she said constantly targetted her by buying black fans and trending topics. “Do you realise all the bad things you’ve done on her behalf? You should be working hard to get endorsements. I’m already in the situation yet you’re still targeting me!” Because Lusi didn’t name any names, Netizens could only speculate who she’s referring to.

Then when she was chattering about her driving test, Netizens thought she was shading her rival Esther Yu Shuxin when she mentioned she knew the penalty for reversing on the highway was 12 points because of an incident involving a celeb did just that and got penalised 12 points. Netizens quickly assumed she was referring to an incident involving Esther and her team in January 2024 when their car illegally reversed in the emergency lane in a Beijing expressway leading to a 12 point demerit from their license.

Zhao Lusi also responded to accusations that she was profiting from the apple juice she recently promoted saying she did not receive a single cent. Questions that surfaced about who actually profited from the sales of the juice led to speculation that the company she promoted on livestream bore a striking similarity to her best friend’s business. Moreover, her image took another hit when Qianjiang Media reported that the ambassadorship certificate she supposedly received was “fake” after the Shaanxi affairs bureau denied issuing one. This prompted the actress to call out Qianjiang Media for being “unscrupulous” in their media reporting. Later, it turned out to be a misunderstanding. The bureau clarified that an “Agricultural Ambassador” certificate was indeed issued but that it was for an apple juice brand company and not to an individual and that there were misunderstandings with the previous person who was interviewed.
