First, he said a fire broke out in his home at the beginning of the month. Although his family was safely evacuated, he said his pet turtle died and their home was seriously damaged. Then when he visited a temple to pray for blessings, he was involved in a traffic accident on the way back. As if that wasn’t enough, whilst he was recovering at home, he suffered financial losses after he was defrauded by an investment scam. His breaking point came when he fell off his motorbike whilst out for a ride on a rainy day. He was physically and mentally exhausted. Nonetheless, he said “good things will come after the bad. Being safe is the most important thing”.

In it he admitted he ignored fans’ concerns and failed to communicate with them any changes in a timely way. Amongst the issues he addressed which worried fans already pointed out – their dissatisfaction over his constantly changing management team as well as their concerns over his prolonged hiatus.

Regarding the instances where his management team frequently dropped the ball resulting in postponed or cancelled activities, the 29-year-old said he understood where fans are coming from. Each team turnover meant there were gaps in communication hence the reason why there were frequent delays and things being overlooked. “They admit it was an oversight and are working hard to adjust”. He added that they’re currently in the middle of restructuring work processes and expressed his hopes they’ll be able to stabilise soon.

As for his prolonged hiatus, the 29-year-old star explained that “work has been really tiring, and I really need to take a breather”. He pointed out it wasn’t his choice to stop working but overall it was a result of uncontrollable factors such as contract disputes and team relationships. On top of that, he said all the stress and pressure from constant harassment and stalking by fans had finally taken its toll. “I always feel like someone is spying on me and couldn’t sleep”, leading him to further isolate himself and stop sharing about his life.

Maybe I’ve yet to grow up, but at least, I have a clear conscience in my journey as an artist”. Zhu Zhengting closed his note by thanking fans for their continued support over the years. He also asked them to give him a little more time. He said although the mountain weighing on him is slowly dissipating, he asked for a little more time to get better.
