Hong Kong actress Natalie Ng has been fighting a recurrence of her breast cancer since August last year. But despite her ongoing battle with the disease, she has continued working on her new autobiography where no topic seemed to be off limits. With the release of her book, the 50-year-old just dropped a major shocker when she revealed herself and her husband David Chan have divorced after 14 years.
Indeed it seems the actress is in the middle of moving out of their 2000 square foot luxury pad, with media reporting that she’s been selling off household items – some of it practically brand new, at a steep discount.
Cracks in Her 14-Year Marriage
In her book, the former Miss Hong Kong second runner-up got candid about several topics including her illness, her career, investments and even her relationship with her financial expert husband David. She shared that long before her diagnosis, her marriage was already in trouble. Despite several instances of splitting up and then reconciling, she said they never truly got around to resolving the root of their issues.
“I have been with him for a long time and we’ve been dating for so long. Perhaps we married because it was the right time. Over the years, we’ve separated and reunited many times, but we’ve never really worked out our issues. So finally, we made a decision.” And so, after 14 years of marriage, the pair decided to split. Natalie reiterated though that the divorce is an amicable one and that they’re still friends.
Natalie Ng and David Chan met when they were still students in the US. Despite breaking up, they ultimately tied the knot in 2011. The pair have two daughters, the eldest Scarlet is now ten whilst their youngest named Season is eight.
