I dunno how they do it, but Netizens managed to sniff out that Coroner’s Diary just nixed a kissing scene between its two protagonists Qin Wan and Yan Chi. When they raised the question about the missing scene online, show producer Quan Haojin replied to say that they did indeed film one but decided to take it out during editing. The drama, starring Li Landi and Ao Ruipeng, has hit the 10,000 popularity milestone on iQIYI. Whether or not it qualifies as a true hit may still be up for debate, but there’s no denying the two leads have sparked onscreen chemistry.
The Scene was Indeed Filmed
Coroner’s Diary follows Qin Wan and Yan Chi solving unusual cases, and the blossoming romance between the pair also has viewers hooked. Doing what they do best, Netizens dug out behind the scenes photos taken by the crew where Li Landi and Ao Ruipeng can be seen filming a kissing scene at the time. However, when the scene failed to air, fans took to social media to lament why it was deleted. “Did the drama delete our young couple’s kissing scene? What’s wrong?” Netizens say the scene with Qin Wan and Yan Chi hugging looked a bit off. “The two heads are clearly touching, but the camera pans and it turns out to be a hug.”
Others though didn’t seem to mind. They pointed out it would be a little awks if the two characters kissed with an audience aka Yan Li and Yue Ning watching.
Show producer Quan Haojin confirmed the kiss scene was indeed filmed. However, whilst editing, everyone felt that a hug between the two protagonists in front of Yan Li and Yue Ning seemed more appropriate hence the reason why it was cut. He also added that “if you really want to see it, then I will fulfill your request.”

I don’t mind the cut. they kissed a lot alrwady. and in this context, it makes sense that they don’t make out in front of Yan Li and the princess.
