The cast of iQiyi’s newest historical suspense drama Shadow Punisher 魅影神捕 has finally been revealed at the show’s recently held boot ceremony in Hengdian. Helmed by Leo Luo Yunxi as lead detective Li Si, their merry band of divine crime solvers is made up of unique personalities. It’s certainly a must in their business of solving strange and eerie crimes.
Fang Yilun joins the fray as “ghost catcher” Meng Rui with his kick arse martial arts skills as well as Shen Yujie who portrays Bai Zhenzhu – the world’s best female coroner. Also joining them are He Hongshan’s female chief Xuanyuan Shan and Wang Haixiang’s ‘iron catcher’ Yan Cheng. Ma Wenyuan also makes a special appearance on the show as general Lou Tianming.

Shadow Punisher Synopsis
Adapted from Wang Ke’s novel of the same name, the series marries suspenseful cases with court intrigue and martial arts elements. Clearly, this is definitely not your usual detective story with its ghostly and fantasy elements.
Shadow Punisher tells the story of Qingyang Prince Li Si who joins the Divine Detective Division to learn the truth behind the death of the fourth prince. Joining forces with female coroner Bai Zhenzhu and Meng Rui – a “ghost detective” with great martial arts skills and a deep hatred for his enemies, they work together to solve eight strange cases perpetrated by the demon Li Luo. With such heinous crimes, the team must bring him to justice and restore peace.
