The Glory Starring Chen Duling and Xin Yunlai Follows a Noblewoman's Rise to Prominence

Not to be confused with the K-drama of the same name, Chinese historical drama The Glory (贵女), starring Chen Duling and Xin Yunlai, has certainly been dropping more promos nowadays with its rumored premiere in March 2025. Based on the web novel The Reborn Noble Girl Is Hard to Find (重生之贵女难求) by Qian Shan Cha Ke (千山茶客), the drama keeps the Chinese title Gui Nü (贵女), meaning “noblewoman,” with its focus on the protagonist’s transformation into the most prestigious lady in the capital.

The Glory follows Zhuang Han Yan, a young woman abandoned in the countryside since childhood who returns to the aristocratic Zhuang family. Her arrival draws the interest of Fu Yun Xi, a nobleman suffering from a mysterious illness and seeking a virtuous wife. As she navigates family conflicts, political intrigue, and societal expectations, she gradually rises to prominence.

Chen Duling has showcased her versatility through various supporting and even villainous roles, despite also playing female leads. It looks like The Glory would finally give her a truly female-centric role. Meanwhile, male lead Xin Yunlai may not be the most well-known star. The actor’s recent dramas include Legend of Shen Li and In Between. Nonetheless, their pairing could add fresh chemistry to the series. Also in the cast are Viva Ho, Yu Entai, Wen Zhengrong, Wang Yan, Liu Xuwei with special appearances by Fu Jing, Huang Haibing, Li Sheng and Liao Huijia.
