Popular actress Rosy Zhao Lusi is stepping into unfamiliar territory with her new variety show Be Myself (小小的勇气), which is set to premiere this March 27, 2025 on Mango TV and Hunan TV. This marks her comeback to the small screen following her battle with depression.
Unlike typical variety programs, Be Myself is specially designed for the 26-year-old star, focusing on self-discovery and personal growth. The teaser hints at themes of anxiety and fear of getting lost—both physically and emotionally—when overwhelmed by the noise of life before she sets out on an adventure to the unknown. It’s expected to be a charity-oriented documentary-style variety show with a strong humanistic focus. Zhao Lusi not only participated without receiving any payment, but she’s said to also have made generous donations to local villagers. The unfiltered experience reportedly has the actress with none of the typical makeup and styling, no preset ‘missions’, nor does it have any scripted direction like most variety shows as it simply aims to capture the beauty of everyday life.
