Taiwanese actor Darren Wang Ta-lu, best known for the rom-com movie Our Times, is facing serious legal troubles. After being accused last month of falsifying medical documents to evade military service, he has now been transferred to the prosecutor’s office for an attempted murder investigation.
According to news outlets, Wang Ta-lu arranged for a car pickup upon his recent return to Taiwan but was dissatisfied with the vehicle’s quality. Frustrated, he allegedly found people to assault both the rideshare driver and the dispatcher, with reports describing the attack as brutal. Authorities have not disclosed details as the case remains under investigation.
Meanwhile, Taiwanese media ETTODAY revealed that Wang’s manager initially did not respond to calls or messages but later issued a brief statement: “We are still trying to understand the situation. Thank you.” Meanwhile, fellow actor Kai Ko, whose known to be good friends with the actor was also asked to comment. His agency said they’re not clear about the incident and will not be responding.
Darren Wang was recently part of the cast of Ai’s Kitchen with Sylvia Chang, which was set to return for a second season. He may have been able to stage a comeback if he completes his military service, but recent developments have escalated the situation significantly, leaving his future uncertain.
