Ryan Ding Yuxi has amassed a huge number of fans after Love Game in Eastern Fantasy. With his recent surge in fame, it’s not at all surprising to see his projects hitting the air soon. Black & White Forest 黑白森林, a crime suspense series the actor shot in early 2023, has just announced its December 4, 2024 release date on Tencent. Ding Yuxi plays a police detective joining a criminal investigation. He works alongside seasoned actors Ning Li and Han Xue while Su Xiaotong makes a special appearance.
Around this time, Ding Yuxi has also kicked off his newest project. The Southern Bureau 南部档案, said to star Steven Zhang Xincheng and Ryan Ding Yuxi as dual male leads in a Republican-era series set in the Daomu Biji universe by renowned writer Nanpai Sanshu has already seen both actors filming on set. This casting was reportedly set before his Love Game in Eastern Fantasy fame. Ding Yuxi also has the upcoming historical romance series Fight for Love 山河枕 where he’s the leading man to actress Victoria Song. Thus far, his upcoming projects are all quite different. I’d be most curious to see when he’s in talks for his next drama, whatever it may be.

Such an underrated actor. I think all he needed was that one drama to really show what he was capable of and that was LGIEF. I hope we get to see another Esther x DYX Collab in the future!
That said, I like that he takes on so many different types of projects bc we’ve been shown time and time again that he’s a very versatile actor, great in his control of micro expressions and body movements.
