Another kdrama that has got everyone abuzz is Disney+’s upcoming Polaris whose casting lineup practically reads like a veritable who’s who of stars from the kdrama industry. Jun Ji-hyun and Kang Dong-won who’s been strictly a film actor for the past two decades will be leading the show. And joining them to bring the story to life are Kim Hae-sook, Lee Mi-sook, Yoo Jae-myung, Park Hae-joon, Oh Jung-se, Lee Sang-hee, Joo Jong-hyuk and Won Ji-an. Hollywood actor John Cho has also joined the star-studded lineup, making the series definitely one to watch out for when it comes out next year.
The spy drama revolves around a diplomat named Moo Ju (Jun Ji-hyun) as she investigates a mysterious case with the help of the enigmatic special agent San Ho (Kang Dong-won) whose roots are equally as secretive.
Now on to the rest of the cast – Kim Hae-sook will portray South Korea’s president whilst Yoo Jae-myung the head of South Korean Intelligence. Lee Mi-sook will play Moon Ju’s mother-in-law whilst Park Hae-joon plays her husband. John Cho whom many might probably know from the Harold and Kumar franchise joins the cast to play an US Assistant Secretary of State. This is his first South Korean production.
