Last night, Zhao Liying took home the ‘Best Actress’ award at the 32nd Golden Eagle Awards for her role in Wild Bloom. This marks the second time she has been crowned a “television queen” at the Golden Eagle Awards, having previously won Best Actress for The Journey of Flower in 2016. This latest recognition comes from a network that has broadcasted many of Zhao Liying’s dramas, like The Journey of Flower, The Story of Minglan, and Princess Agents, which became massive hits. Incidentally, her Journey of Flower co-star Li Qin was also a contender for Best Actress this year for her role in Miles to Go. Although only one could win, it made way for sweet interactions between the two.
Chinese Actress Known for Her Rounder Face Shape
In a short tribute to Zhao Liying, clips from her past dramas were shown at the awards show, including a moment when she shared how her career was initially hampered by her face shape. The Chinese actress, known for her round face, said, “For the first seven years, I was always playing supporting roles because they said a round face can’t be the main lead. They thought my image was limited, not magnanimous. At the time, I refused to accept this. In my heart, I quietly made a promise: don’t let me catch my chance, because if I do, I’ll grab it like my life depends on it.”

This truly seems to be the year for the 37-year-old actress as she racks up major acting awards. In addition to her two Golden Eagle Best Actress Awards, Zhao Liying has previously secured a Feitian Best Actress award for Wild Bloom. There are three major acting awards for television in China, and she’s now only missing the Magnolia Award, for which she has been repeatedly nominated but has not yet won. Her recent accomplishments aren’t limited to TV dramas; she also won Best Supporting Actress for Article 20 at the 2024 Hundred Flowers Awards.

I admire her for not changing the shape of her face, and allowing her acting to speak for itself. Those were different times and the pressure to do plastic surgery was not this intense. She’s done a great job with her career so far. (Btw I’m not saying she’s had no work done as I don’t know if she has or not) but she’s a beautiful woman and a good actress.

She did tons of plastic surgery. She doesn’t even look like Yang Mi from the beginning. After plastic surgery, she looks like Yang Mi. She didn’t even invent any acting skill either, she literally copies Yang Mi’s style of acting. But she markets heavily that Yang Mi did plastic surgery and that Yang Mi cannot act. These days, if anyone has a round face, Zhao Liying will attack them to the point they can never rise. Zhao Liying speaks as if she made round face famous. She did not, when she stole William Chan from Charlene Choi, Charlene was a round face. Ella Chen was a round face. They can get famous without attacking round face people. They can get famous without lying that round face cannot get famous. Others can get famous without attacking others for coming from better family background. The ones from poor background were welcomed and not even looked down upon. The reason ZLY got alienated was her bad behavior. She even market that she is adorably honest and blunt, and it’s such a rare personality others don’t have, so she mistakenly offended others. WOW! When it’s others they can’t even throw a joke, but the things ZLY said are so evil and she can whitewash herself by utilizing her water armies. Queen of water armies only!

He worked with Zhao Liying in Article 20 for which she won an award. So no, Zhao Liying didn’t have any work done on her face. She’s just aging and maturing beautifully. Probably paying a lot for skin care, but that’s about it, imo. She’s a great actress and good person. She deserves all the awards.

ZLY is a very smart person. She monitors each and every comments about her very carefully. She is especially careful about 2 things.
1 – No plastic surgery marketing
2 – Not relying on men marketing
Just because ZLY works with ZYM, it does not mean she has no plastic surgery. ZYM did not like ZLY. He worked with her to repay favors for his close colleague, Feng Xiaogang who brought ZLY into the industry but she never give him the deserving credits. She markets that she used herself only while it is never true. Other than Feng Xiaogang, ZLY also used many other rich men. Nicky Wu and Allen Ting are included. ZYM did not go to ZLY and seek her, it was ZLY who used her connections to catch ZYM as well as many other directors. When ZYM wanted to seek Yang Zi, ZLY hired water armies to attack YZ day and night relentlessly. ZLY relies on big name directors. While other actresses can only rely on their own selves, unlike ZLY, they don’t even have the face to market about how hard they work. ZLY crossed the line when she not only lie about how much self effort she used, she always attack others that they have better background and education but not dedicated/talented enough. If anyone asks why ZLY needs to rely on such shameless marketing, she immediately pulls the victim card that she only came from a humble background so she will never be good enough like all those other luckier people. After ZLY played very nasty marketing on ZYM’s leading actresses like Ma Li and Gao Ye, they all made fun of ZLY publicly, including ZYM who laughed at ZLY’s stupidity.
ZYM was obviously very discontent with her, but afraid of offending her, so he came out to explain that he still has future works with her.
