Singer-actress Zhou Jieqiong is back with new web drama, Their Wonderful Time 他们的奇妙时光 (previously entitled Love from Game Bug), set to premiere September 3, 2024 on Tencent. While there doesn’t seem to be much hype for the series, it bring a lot of quirky tropes thrown in with interdimensional romance! Actor Ge Qiugu who started out in supporting roles before headlining short dramas plays the leading man.
Their Wonderful Time is set between real life and within a gaming metaverse where Zhou Jieqiong’s character Song Lingling is female game designer who starts developing odd quirks and an aggressive attitude that are truly out of character. After practically assaulting almost everyone, it turns out she was possessed by a NPC she personally designed hence the reason why she acts like she’s a character in a video game.
Due to circumstances, she’s forced to cohabitate with Xiao Ran, the CEO of the gaming company, since for some reason, being with him helps her regain her senses. In order to fixing the glitches in the game, the pair and their friends have to enter the virtual “reality” of the game while also fixing “bugs” in real life. The cast includes Li Hao as Zhang Yunfei, Zhang Sifan as Lin Qiao, Lin Meng Qi as Shen Xiangyu and Miffy Shi as Liu Yiyi.
