“Your Honor” K-Drama Version Hits Ratings High: Son Hyun Joo & Kim Myung Min in Thrilling Showdown Between Two Dads

Your Honor kdrama

The Korean adaptation of Your Honor, featuring Son Hyun Joo and Kim Myung Min, continues to gain traction with audiences. Both actors bring their usual gravitas to the roles of two dads, a judge and a gangster who would turn into monsters for their sons. The show’s popularity was evident in last night’s episode, which reached a new ratings high of 4.334%. It’s been a steady climb from its premiere ratings of 1.736% until the show pushed through 2%, 3% and now 4%.

This week’s episodes followed the intense cliffhanger from episode 4, where the two fathers finally crossed paths for the first time. It’s a thrilling scene, the gangster dad was ready to kill the judge, but the judge managed to talk his way out of the situation. To prove his “loyalty,” the gangster handed him a gun with orders to kill someone—leaving viewers on the edge of their seats. Sure enough, things only get more chaotic from there, and it wouldn’t be complete without the sons. Kim Do Hoon from Moving fame plays the judge’s son who becomes the catalyst for everything when he accidentally kills the son of the gang leader. Heo Nam Jun who most recently played one of the soldiers in Sweet Home 3 plays the gangster son.

The K-Drama version of Your Honor is already the third iteration of the series. It was originally an Israeli TV series entitled Kvodo before being adapted into an American drama television series starring none other than Bryan Cranston. ENA is typically not known for high ratings as a cable network except for rare hits like Crash, which achieved the network’s second-highest ratings in ENA drama history with 6.6% and megahit series Extraordinary Attorney Woo which recorded a whopping 17.534%.
