Hong Kong singer-actor Deep Ng announced last year that he left his agency Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG). Since then, Deep has had to pivot towards working construction, and he revealed that it’s because his income has fallen into an all time low since debuting in showbiz 20 years ago. Not to say that the singer-actor has completely closed the chapter on showbiz. It’s just that one has to do what he has to do to make ends meet for his family.
Nonetheless, Deep still makes sure his fans can keep up with the comings and goings in his life through the occasional vlogs he shares on social media. And, despite the challenges he faced, it appears the 40-year-old still managed to keep in good spirits regardless. These days you can find Deep high above the city, putting up metal scaffolding work for projects like the Asia World Expo and the Central Waterfront Concert Venue after he was introduced by a friend. Now leaving home at 6am and working four to five days a week on his ‘8 to 5,’ the dad of one still has time (and the energy!) to rush back home to cook for his wife and toddler whilst also giving singing lessons.
Despite the pivot, don’t worry as Deep hasn’t totally given up on his singing career just yet. In fact, it seems his career as a singer has reached a turning point, landing him gigs for Christmas and NYE which found him performing for fans in Malaysia no less. The singer-actor is also getting ready to kick off his concert “Deep Reborn” which will happen on the 24th of February.
Now that he’s very busy with his two careers, the 40-year-old said he’s taking care of himself now more than ever. Aside from gravitating towards making healthier choices, the former party boy who always used to be papped during his nights out on the town just announced he’ll also be quitting alcohol.
