Sadly, Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi and her rocker husband Wang Feng have called it quits after eight years married to each other. Both exes simultaneously announced the divorce on their social media accounts earlier this afternoon issuing the same statement. First thanking everyone for their concern, the former couple said “after eight years of marriage, we have decided to dissolve our union after careful consideration and discussion.” As for their two kids – the couple share a 7-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son, they said that they will raise the children together as a family unit and grow with them as they get older. “We will continue to be parents that they can depend on.”
But what went wrong and who caused the split? The statements addressed the question by stressing that it was a mutual decision from both parties. “There’s no dispute between us over who is right and who is wrong. Separation does not necessarily mean disappointment or betrayal. This is a decision made by two adults and we hope to get everyone’s understanding and support.”
This is Zhang Ziyi’s first marriage and the third for Wang Feng when they tied the knot back in 2015. Wang Feng has two daughters from a previous relationship and a previous marriage. Before today’s announcement, an entertainment blogger broke the news that the couple had supposedly split. But even then, folks had already began to notice that the couple’s interactions on social media became less and less. Other rumours claim that Wang Feng’s supposed infidelity was what ultimately led to the divorce. Meanwhile, entertainment blogger Liu Dachui later said the divorce is not due to the man.
